Medicare data indicate ranks of APRNs are growing
The number of nurse practitioners in the U.S. is increasing, according to an analysis of federal data. In 2013, 15% more nurse practitioners received Medicare payments than in 2012. The analysis found that NPs and physician assistants are a fast-growing segment of providers, which experts described as a reflection of the growing importance of nonphysicians in health care. Keep ages, employment dates off nursing resumes
Employers should not be able to tell a nurse's age based on a resume, so graduation dates and total years of experience can be excluded. Resumes for older nurses or those who retired but want to return to work should go back 15 to 20 years and not include every job. Nurse.com
