Employment outlook is strong for nurses
The need for nurses and other health care staff is the greatest it has been since the mid-1990s, says analyst Randle Reece of Avondale Partners, and data from Staffing Industry Analysts indicate that the demand for travel nurses could increase 10% this year because of decreasing unemployment. AMN Healthcare CEO Susan Salka says some hospitals have doubled or tripled requests for travel nurses, with emergency department, intensive care and other specialties in greatest demand.
