Good outlook for nurses as health sector adds jobs
The health care industry gained 22,300 jobs overall in March as hospitals and ambulatory care added positions but employment at nursing homes and residential-care facilities dropped, according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. "In the time I've been a nurse, the NICU has definitely changed. We're seeing fewer babies in the NICU -- 35-week-gestation babies are now going home, and the hospital is providing many more educational opportunities," she said.
