Nursing job market varies across U.S.
Jobs for registered nurses are plentiful in some parts of the U.S., including Indiana, where the state's Department of Workforce Development ranked RN as No. 1 on a list of 50 hot careers. Elsewhere, Sean Clarke, associate dean for undergraduate programs at Boston College's Connell School of Nursing, says new grads in the Boston area may have to look for jobs in the suburbs or in other regions. Boston College associate professor Judith Shindul-Rothschild says nurses with bachelor's degrees have an easier time finding jobs, and those in southern and central states may have the best luck.
