U.S. economy added 321,000 jobs in Nov.
The U.S. Labor Department reported that 321,000 jobs were created in November, beating the 230,000 jobs that economists predicted. The unemployment rate stayed at 5.8%. CNBC

U. of New Orleans eyes program, faculty cuts to save $4.7M
The president of the University of New Orleans is hoping to save $4.7 million by the 2016-2017 academic year through a plan that includes the elimination of seven degree programs, terminating 10 instructor positions and reducing the number of adjunct instructors. The plan would eliminate the school's geography department, as well as programs in special education and political science. The Times-Picayune (New Orleans)
