Colorado has awarded more than $975,000 in grants, funded through marijuana tax revenue, to 11 school districts to use to hire health care professionals, including school nurses. Nurses pick certificate programs to expand skills

Jackson-Madison County General Hospital forensic nurse Lucinda Bridges says forensics is an "underserved but necessary" part of nursing, and she finds it rewarding to help sexual-assault victims. Faculty shortages limit nursing school admissions
The U.S. is facing a nursing shortage, research has found, and Columbia University assistant professor of nursing Lusine Poghosyan says faculty shortages are limiting nursing school admissions. The profession must find a way to make an academic career in nursing as attractive as a clinical career, and part of that is ensuring competitive salaries in the academic setting, she says.
