Physician offices still need policies for handling cash
Although only a few patients may pay in cash, medical practices still need policies for handling it, in part to prevent employee embezzlement, experts said. Practice consultants advised keeping cash drawers for patient payments separate from petty cash for small purchases, implementing theft-prevention procedures such as having just one staff person assigned to handle cash payments, and keeping a limited amount of money in the office.  American Medical News (free content) (1/14)
